One way to take control of your gambling is by signing up for the Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program (VEP).

How Does the Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program Work?

  • Participation in the Self-Exclusion Program is completely voluntary; no one else can enroll you in the Self-Exclusion Program.
  • As a participant in the program, you agree to refrain from entering any state-owned casino in Kansas.*
  • You must complete the request form of your own free will and you must not be under the influence of any alcoholic beverages, controlled substances or prescription medications.
  • Your participation in the program is strictly confidential and will only be released to casino security for the purpose of enforcement.
  • You may exclude yourself for two years, or a lifetime. Once a time period is selected, it may be increased but not decreased. If you choose a two-year ban, you may request removal from the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission; the commission will decide whether or not to release you from the program after you have completed a problem gambling assessment with a certified counselor, AND you have completed a series of courses about healthy lifestyle choices.
  • During your participation in the program, you will be removed from casino marketing lists, and you will not be eligible for promotions, credit or casino comps.
  • If you are found in a Kansas state-owned casino during your participation in the program, you will be asked to leave, and you could be subject to arrest for criminal trespassing; any winnings will be confiscated and sent to the problem gambling and addiction fund.
  • Casinos may elect to permanently ban you from their property.

*Does not apply to tribal casinos.
